How To Write An Article And Promote Websites With Articles

Anyone can write an article and use it to advertise their site. The distribution of articles through article directories is one of the best ways to promote your site. Even if you have never penned one, there is at least one type of article that almost anybody can compose.

A Top-Ten Or List-Article. Choose with a topic that is relevant to your website and find a good keyword for it. This is the phrase that people will use when they use a search engine to find your article. If you aren’t sure how to do keyword research, just ask yourself what words you would use to search for an article on this topic.

Think of an aspect of your topic that can be made into a list. You’re going to write an article that has the “Top Ten Ways” to do something, or “Six Simple Techniques For” something, or “Five Questions To Ask” Whoever. Other possibilities include “Six Great Ideas For…,” “Top Ten Tips for…,” “Ten Secrets About…,” “Three Steps To…,” and so on.

Now just follow the simple outline below. Say the article is on ways that you can get free traffic for a website, and the keyword is “free website traffic.”

1. Write a title for the article, using the keyword it, so searchers can find your article more easily: “Six Ways To Get Free Website Traffic.”

2. Write a description of one or two sentences, telling the reader what they will get from reading your article: “How many ways do you use to get free traffic for your website? You’ll learn six of the best here.”

3. “Sell” the article in the first paragraph, using the keyword once again: “Free website traffic is a few clicks away if you know where to look…”

4. Create a numerated list, and explain each entry with a couple sentences: “1. Write articles. This is possibly the best way to get free website traffic. Submit your articles to article directories, and readers find there way to your site by way of the link at the end of your article. 2. Exchange links with high traffic websites…”

5. End the article with a short paragraph, using the keywords one more time: “You can see that some of these ways to get free website traffic are easier than others, but why not try all of them. The real question is which will work best for your website…” This summary paragraph isn’t always necessary.

6. Create a short “About The Author” or author’s resource box. Have just one or two links to your website in it. Talk less about yourself than about why the reader should visit your site. Entice and tantalize: “For more ways to get free website traffic, visit…” This is possibly the most important part of how to write an article for website publicity.

If you are serious about article marketing you must submit unique articles. If you just submit the same article to different sites you’re articles will not be as effective or get the traffic you could achieve with unique articles. Read on for my simple but powerful tips.

What is unique article marketing? The answer is quite simple. It is simply unique articles to the article directories. Simple enough right! Unique articles must not be essentially the same article with just a few words changed. It must be more unique than that. The search engines will easily detect if you’re articles are basically the same. Here is where you must write your articles with unique content.

The title must be unique. This is very important. I suggest a keyword tool to help you put keywords in your article titles. There are many free keyword tool sites and some that charge a fee but they are well worth it. You can have a great unique article but your readers must be able to find you. I also suggest long tailed keywords. They are more effective most of the time because the competition is very stiff with the top keywords. This is a topic for another lesson but for now we will stick with unique article marketing. Here is the key point make each article title unique and relevant to your article and include different keywords in each title.

Here is another key point to getting unique article marketing results. Write your articles and make them at least 30% unique. Simple enough. It will take longer to make your articles unique but well worth the time. When your articles get submitted you may have different ones show up in the search engines. Here is a often overlooked unique article marketing strategy. You must and I repeat must make your resource boxes unique. By this I mean use different keywords and domain names in them. What this means is to insert different domains related to your articles in your resource boxes. When you do this you will help the different domains get backlinks which will drive your sites higher up the rankings.

Every day, editors of a huge range of subject specific e-zines, visit the article directories and download new articles that are relevant to their audience. This saves them writing it themselves. The only stipulation made is that they must publish the article in full, without editing and always include the author’s resource box and retain the links intact.

So over a period, a single article can easily, be found in many different places on the web, each time with a valuable back link to your website, which not only leads highly targeted visitors to you but also helps to improve your search rankings. Article Marketing Tip Submit Your Articles To The Directories Slowly

Writing articles as I am sure many of you know is a very popular way of increasing the amount of backward links that you have pointing to your site. In theory, the more of these backward links we are able to obtain, the more traffic our site should receive. There are however some very important things to take into consideration when writing and submitting your articles as you do not want to be wasting your time and you do not want your site to get dropped by the major search engines or put in some sort of sandbox.

The first thing to remember is that Rome was not built in a day. What I mean is if you have a new website, about for example weight loss, you may want to reach the top ten in Google for your keywords within say six months. You hear that one way to do this is by building up good number of back links to this weight loss site. You think that the more the merrier and start pounding out one article after the other and are very proud of yourself after the first month because you were able to write fifty articles all pointing to your new weight loss website.

I believe this approach to be totally wrong. The weight loss websites which are in the top ten of Google have probably been around for quite a number of years and will without doubt have a number of quality back links. If your site sticks around for a long time and you continue to build up its back links it will go higher and higher in the search engines over time.

The one thing you do not want to do is to raise any red flags with the search engines. A new site which has eight hundred back links after one month could raise this red flag. The search engines will now probably not trust this site and could easily put it in some sort of sandbox until it decides whether it is kosha or not.

In my judgment it is important to build up the number of back links to a new website fairly slow. When writing articles, I would personally only write one article with a link to a new website per week. Of course if you have ten websites, you are able to write ten articles if you only decide to have one link on each article etc.

I also think that it is very worthwhile to only submit the same article to around five or six of the different article directories. I would submit the article in total to around twenty-two article directories but would have around four variations of it etc. The differences in each article are not massive but are big enough to make it more original. There is a big thing being debated at the moment in webmaster circles about the potential damage that can be caused by duplicate content. From what I have read, everybody seems to have a different opinion on this subject. My opinion is that it is better to be safe than sorry, therefore why take the risk? It would be good however if the major search engines could clarify their position on the subject, but lets face it, that is never going to happen.

In conclusion, my advice is to enjoy writing articles, have patience, build up the number of backward links slowly and to submit different variations of the same article to the directories. Visit the Unique Article Wizard site. It could change your article marketing results forever.
